Gravity Die Casting

Gravity die casting is a process in which molten metal is poured into a reusable metal mold (called a die or “kokille”) under the force of gravity. It allows for high dimensional accuracy, excellent surface quality, and is particularly suitable for series production of metal parts with complex geometries.

In April 2025, we took over the representation of the gravity die casting foundry Walter Wagener GmbH, based in Lennestadt. The company specializes in the production of core-intensive castings in small and medium-sized batches. Materials used include aluminum, brass, and Cuphin. With many years of experience, extensive material expertise, and a modern machine park, Walter Wagener offers precise solutions for demanding applications across various industrial sectors.

Materials:
Copper-Zinc – Copper-Aluminum – Aluminum-Silicon – Aluminum-Zinc – Copper-Zinc

Weight:
Depending on batch size and alloy: from 100g to 8kg raw

Series Production:
Focus on small and medium-sized batches of 200–500 pieces; framework agreements available.

Consulting and Development:
WWL supports the development of new parts as well as the improvement of existing ones.

Toolmaking and Core Production:
All in-house. The core production department uses computer-controlled core shooting machines. A manually operated machine is available for prototypes or small series. WWL has deep expertise in core-intensive casting processes and manufactures complex core packages and cores with inserts, as well as molds with additional cores.

Machining:
WWL has its own in-house machining capabilities. Turning and milling are just a few examples. Complete assembly manufacturing can also be offered.

Quality Assurance:
DIN ISO 9001 certified since 2016. All quality assurance measures are available, from sampling to 100% inspection.
