Open-die forging is a process in which metal is shaped in an open tool by hammering or pressing. The material remains plastic and is worked without a fixed mold. This produces high-strength, dimensionally accurate parts that are used in the aerospace, automotive, and mechanical engineering industries.

We have taken over the representation for the Italian forge Fomec Spa from Mondovì. Since 1976, Fomec has been producing forged pieces in carbon, alloy, duplex, and super duplex stainless steels. The in-house presses enable the manufacturing of forgings up to a weight of 40 tons. Fomec has the corresponding heating and heat treatment furnaces. The cutting department is equipped with multiple saws, with a cutting capacity of up to 2300 mm. Finally, in the workshop, milling and drilling machines, as well as vertical and parallel lathes, process blanks up to 40 tons. Fomec holds qualifications ISO:9001, Lloyds Register, ABS, Bureau Veritas, DNV, and TÜV.
